HISTORY
In Hjerting where Hjerting Badehotel is located there has been serving for over 300 years. First in the old tatched "Hjerting Kro", which burned down and later in 1914 the hotel was rebuilt as Hjerting Badehotel. For many years after the Hotel was popular especially for the "townpeople" from Copenhagen, who enjoyed the summer for 2-3 weeks a year. Here was fresh air, beautiful sunsets and good food.

In 1969 the hotel was renamed Hotel Hjerting. It was the new times and the hotel's attraction was now "dinner evenings" with big buffets, music and dance for the "young audience". Holiday stays were no longer popular since bathing i Ho Bugt was illegal at the time, therefor also the change of the name.

From the early '80s the hotel was very business-oriented with emphasis on a rapidly expanding offshore industry in Esbjerg. There was now a need for many training rooms, bedrooms etc. The hotel has since 1980 undergone many on-and outbuildings, among other the room capacity has expanded four times, until the hotel contained 48 rooms.

In 2007 there were plans to build apartments on a portion of the land. But plans were shelved and instead launched a major renovation and conceptual change, so the hotel again would end up as Hjerting Badehotel.
